High Street Tattoo began with the idea that Tattooing is more than just putting ink in skin; it is also an opportunity to learn something about yourself, and have a positive experience that will provide good memories for years to come. We at High Street Tattoo are committed to the highest standards of sterility and artistic integrity, and therefore offer only one-of-a-kind, custom tattoos. We are not opposed to any tattoo, but will make suggestions to improve the overall quality and durability of your tattoo. Clients are invited to bring any and all reference material that may help our artists give you what you want, or we would be happy to research and draw your subject for you. We know that there are many Tattoo shops to choose from, and we hope that you take some time to pick one that is right for you. From all of us at High Street Tattoo, we look forward to seeing you soon, and will work to give you the best experience possible.
Sincerely,
Giovani and the High Street Tattoo staff
GIO Seven years ago, I left my job in the restaurant business to pursue a career in tattooing. I had always enjoyed the tattoo process, and was lucky enough to know some good people in Columbus that were willing to help me follow my dream. I worked on the east side of town for the first two years, building my skills at Bodylanguage tattoo. I was lucky to make the move to Durb's shop for nearly four years, and was fortunate to have the opportunity to be around some of the most progressive and skilled artists in Columbus. As time went by, and with the shop under new ownership, I found myself needing a challenge. Having worked at some of the finest shops in the city, I felt the need to branch out. Thus began the story of High Street Tattoo. As far as tattooing, I enjoy most any style, with a focus on the unique. This is an amazing job, and it gives me an opportunity to meet different people from all walks of life, and do something extremely gratifying.
CARY Old cartoons and cheap horror flicks have been some of my greatest inspirations for drawing and painting, which I have been doing since I can remember. After putting in five years at the Columbus College of Art and Design I graduated with an illustration degree in 2000. I have always been interested in the art of tattooing and started drawing tattoo flash. That led to an apprenticeship in 2002 and since then I can't imagine doing anything else. I've been tattooing with the other great artists at hst since dec 05. I enjoy doing different tattoo styles, but prefer mostly weird colorful Americana styled imagery. Aside from tattooing I still paint regularly and create digital art like this web site. I spend a lot of time with my wife Katie, beating on drums with the Donnybrook Boys, and patching the holes in my 60 buick. Check out more of my tattoos and artwork at Caryink.com
SCOTT Tattooing for 5 years now I have traveled enough to finally root down in Columbus, Ohio Hailing (a taxi) from Cleveland Ohio I worked at a handful of shops were i greased the gears to my now semi-succesful career. I enjoy a lot of different styles of tattooing, but enjoy taking the ol’ run of the mill ideas and putting a little Scotty flavor in em If you would like something drawn up feel free to call or email.

BRETT I've been tattooing since late 2003, after developing a fascination for the art as a recipient. I've been fortunate enough to be exposed to many great artists, living and working in Columbus, and also through traveling. Many influences have had their bearing on my approach to tattooing. The most valued attribute that I have picked up is a deep respect for tattooing and its traditions. I only hope to make myself a better artist everyday, and to represent this sacred art in the best way possible. I am a huge horror movie fan, and metalhead, so my art tends to push towards the macabre and sinister. However, I like to tackle any challenge visually and have made every effort to educate myself in the different schools of tattooing. Japanese traditional, realistic, and illustrative tattooing are the most predominant elements in my approach. My move to join the crew at High Street Tattoo is a hallmark in my career that I am very grateful for. I hope to use the opportunity in Columbus to continue to improve my art, and provide quality tattoos for our clients.

STEVE Steve began tattooing in 1991. traditional Japanese and American influences pervade his work, and large Japenese themed pieces are his main focus, although all styles of tattooing are embraced. Striving for technical and artistic expertise is paramount. As well as tattooing, painting and drawing are a serious focus. Steve regularly has work in galleries and usually has paintings, prints and drawings availible. In addition to tattooing and painting, he is currently finishing acadimic work in art history. Steve is availible for appointments Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Stop by, call or email for appointment inormation or to set up a consultation.
DUSTIN I started tattooing in 2000 in Circleville Ohio. Soon after I moved to Columbus to pursue my tattoo career. In that time I had the opportunity to travel to conventions and work guest spots in shops around the country. In my experiences I picked up different techniques and styles that I apply to my work. My art influences vary from realism to big bold colorful pieces. I excel in black and gray work and portraits, but I do not limit myself to certain styles like some big headed girls on t.v.. During my time off I play in a variety of bands including the band I front, Under One Flag. I look forward to giving each client a custom piece of their own that they will be proud to have.
AJ After attending college in bowling Green Ohio, AJ McMillen started tattooing in early 2001. To better his tattooing he moved to Boulder Colorado for some time before returning to columbus Ohio to make his mark in the midwest. AJ tattoos can be best explained as a mix between traditional americana and heavily saturated realism. AJ would go on to say "I like to take something beautiful and make it as creepy as hell."
JAY Tattooing since November 1996, I have had the luxury of working with a considerable cross section of styles. Prefering to pool those styles along with a good knowlege of tattooing in a well rounded time tested method is how I work. I feel fundamentals are paramount, and a good foundation will prove itself as the tattoo ages. Tattoos that you can tell what they are from across the street are what I strive for, also stong knowlege of an artists tools is a must. If I had to choose a prefered style it would be traditional americana, best described as bold, heavy black, simple clean tattooing.
BIGGS For as long as i can remember, pretty much since i could hold a pencil, I've drawn. Drawing and painting were my creative outlets all through out my school years. Upon graduation, i searched for a practical application for my artistic abilities. After receiving my first tattoo, i feel in love with the idea of my artwork living on through the people i would come to tattoo. i had finally found what i was searching for. I've been tattooing now for four years, prefering to work in traditional American and Japanese style. I look forward to progressing in both my tattooing and painting, and am excited for what my future holds.

A few words from Giovani about the tattoo process

It is important with any custom art, including tattoos, to keep a few things in mind: The first thing is that your artist wants to give you the best tattoo possible. We put all of our energy into this, and our name is carried with every person that gets tattooed here, therefore, we are excited to help you bring your idea to life in the most dynamic way possible. What this means to you is that your artist may make suggestions to improve the overall artistic quality of your idea. We are always happy to design a tattoo based on any idea, drawing, or reference you may have, but we do enjoy spicing up a tattoo. The next thing to remember is that 100% custom tattoos don't just happen, it is a combination of client input, artistic vision, and mostly hard work. Drawing, even for those of us that do it everyday, is time-consuming, often all-consuming work. Couple that with being the busiest artists in the city, and it becomes clear why sometimes, the tattoo process may take longer than in the past, (when it was customary for tattoos to be picked off a wall of designs,) we do our best to be on time, but it is important for us not to rush the process. With tattoos, you only get one chance to make it perfect, and we take that chance just as seriously with every client. With that in mind, we are always anxious to meet new clients, and help you bring your tattoo ideas to life with the style, and courteous professionalism that you have come to expect from High Street Tattoo, Columbus' best tattoo studio.
